This weekend is designed to empower our community with essential skills for cultivating self-reliance. The event includes workshops in saw milling, myco-remediation, zome building, and community food security.

  • Community Food Security Workshop

With Alan Booker of the Integrative Institute of Regenerative Design

    December 14 & 15, 2024

Community Food Security takes a whole-systems view of how to return the production of food with real nutrient integrity to our local communities and how rebuilding our local food systems can help re-weave the strands of community that have become frayed through the industrialization of food. We will look at how to work across all scales and densities—from container and rooftop gardens in dense urban cityscapes to small, local farms in nearby rural areas—to create patterns of abundance and restore access to nutrient-dense real food.

  • Zome Building Workshop

With Devon Love of Earth Alchemy

    December 12-15, 2024

Zomes feature welcoming design that blends in with nature and can be built efficiently with non toxic or repurposed materials.

This immersive experience focuses on practical, hands-on learning, equipping attendees with the skills to replicate this efficient design on their own. To honor the theme of resilience and affordability, we’ll use reclaimed and surplus materials; making this workshop an accessible and impactful model for participants.

  • Mushroom Inoculation Workshop and Mycoremediation of Soil

    With Tradd Cotter

    Dec 12 & 13, 2024

This class will discuss recycling and composting with fungi, how to cultivate on logs, large downed trunks, stumps and wood chips. Mycoremediation of water and soil, including construction material and debris will also be covered to improve devastated habitats.

This event includes yoga, workshops, dance, sound healing, sauna, meals, and space for relaxing surrounded by the forest and supportive community.
