Mandala Spring’s Water Testing Results

Water Buffalo

In collaboration with Truth Is One Church we now have a water buffalo truck. This allows us to deliver much more water.

In fact in 2.5 hours we can deliver what used to take us almost 12 hours!!

This water truck has a fantastic history! It delivered non potable water for Flush AVL (check them out!). Sanitation was a crisis in Asheville when folks were unable to flush their toilets.

We are so grateful for the lended use of this truck to deliver potable (drinking) water now.

We opened the hull, sanitized and refinished the tank. We fill it with our artisan well (safe, clean, tested, spring water).

Mandala Springs water sample tested negative for E. coli, as well as other coliform bacteria, using the tests shown below. The yellow appearance of the fluid and the non-luminescent appearance of the water beneath blue light demonstrates the absence of bacteria.

We learned that the pH level of water can reflect its purity, so we tested our source. We found that our water has an alkalinity of over 8.4pH. Since contaminants typically make water acidic, this result helps to demonstrate the safety of the water.

Current System

We’ve transitioned from sourcing water from the wild spring to utilizing our artesian well. Here’s a brief overview of how our new system works:

Our artesian well taps into a robust underground stream that flows through ancient bedrock fissures. This well is designed with a protective metal sleeve to safeguard against potential biological contamination, and it is securely capped and sealed.

The pressurized well effectively captures this pristine underground flow, allowing us to deliver clean spring water directly to our totes and trucks.

While we’ll continue to conduct occasional tests—particularly after heavy rain or storms—the rigorous testing schedule required for the wild spring is no longer necessary. Our current test results will remain valid for an extended period, ensuring the water’s safety. Following significant weather events, we will conduct tests to verify that our water remains uncontaminated.

Thank you for your continued trust in our water quality!
